Go Big City (gobigcity.com) publishes guides for people moving to big US cities. This page explains what information the site collects when you visit, how it is used, and the choices you have. Questions about this policy can be sent to joe.bjorklund@bairdwarner.com.
What information does Go Big City collect?
- Basic visit data. Like most websites, our hosting provider (WP Engine) and our network and security provider (Cloudflare) receive standard request information when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time of the request. They use it to deliver pages, keep the site secure and stop abuse.
- Information you give us. If you email us or create an account, we receive what you send, such as your name and email address.
- Cookies. The site uses a small number of cookies that are needed for it to work, such as cookies that keep you logged in if you have an account, and security cookies Cloudflare may set to tell people from bots. We do not currently use advertising cookies.
We do not currently run analytics, advertising or tracking pixels on the site. If that changes, we will update this page before it starts.
Which outside services load on the site?
Some pages load fonts and icons from Google Fonts and Font Awesome. When your browser requests those files, those services receive your IP address and browser information under their own privacy policies (Google, Font Awesome). Our guides also link to other websites, including our sister apartment-building directories; those sites have their own privacy practices.
How is the information used?
We use it to run and secure the site, to answer messages, and to manage accounts. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it except with the service providers that run the site, or when the law requires it.
What choices do you have?
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site’s guides work without cookies; logging in to an account does not.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete personal information you have given us, such as an account or an email, by writing to joe.bjorklund@bairdwarner.com.
- The site is meant for adults planning a move and is not directed at children under 13.
Will this policy change?
If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
